Grade 5 Reading

The Grade 5 girls enjoyed the opportunity to read their isiZulu books to the Grade 3’s. The isiZulu books are entitled “Izilwane” and have been written and produced by the Grade 5’s themselves. Through this activity the Gr 5’s practised the vocabulary that they had learnt as well as the present tense language structures. The Grade 3 classes have also been learning about animals in isiZulu and they were able to see if they remembered the names of the wild animals. Patricia, from Supercare, also enjoyed the opportunity to read the isiZulu books with some of the Grade 5’s. Simba, on the other hand, decided that he knew enough about animals and he chose to seek out a warm, quiet spot in the classroom.
