Greensleeves Outing

Off to Greensleeves, went the Grade Fives
To learn all about Medieval lives
Battlements, portcullis, drawbridge and moat
Stone castles, weapons and knights of note

The halberd, the crossbow, the dreaded pike
These were weapons that they did like
Longbow and battle-axe, two-handed sword
Crusades and battles, always a war

The knights were brave and oh so bold
Wearing armour made of metal cold
Jousting tournaments for a lady’s favour
Through fear and hounour, they didn’t waver

A feast was had – pottage and ice cream
Salt was given by Josie, our queen
Cheering and hailing “wassail” with mead
We definitely had great fun indeed!
