The letter below was sent to the Grade 5 girls in response to their donation to Nthabiseng.
Dear Gail and all the teachers and learners in Grade 5,
Thank you all so very much for the extremely generous donation of jumble that you collected during the first term. It was sold soon after it was taken to the crèche and raised R1644.00! This is an enormous amount of money.
Nthabiseng has used the money to renovate the ceilings of the children’s and teachers’ toilet block, which were in a very poor state. They have also been tiled and it is all looking wonderful and hygienic and fresh. Thank you all so very much for making this possible.
I am attaching some photographs for you to see the finished results.
The many, many books which were also donated have been put into the older children’s classroom. These are the children who will start Grade One next year. They are going to be used for a weekly library issue so that the children can take one home each week for their parents to read to them. So thank you very, very much for this very kind gift.
