Jet SA Maths Challenge


The final round of the JET Maths Challenge was held at St Stithians Girls’ Prep on Wednesday afternoon, 7 September. This Mathematics challenge is a national event and the questions are aimed at conceptual knowledge, the application of knowledge in new situations, problem solving, reasoning, communication and general mathematical thinking. All our girls in Grade 4, 5 and 6 participated in the first round, held at school at the end of the Second Term. Eighteen of our girls were successful in going through to the final round. The Brescia House are very proud of these young mathematicians and their achievements.

Grade 6:
 Teaghan Lucas – awarded silver
Daina Eadie – awarded gold
Iman Cao – awarded silver
Nikita Lledo – awarded silver
Jordan Dittmar – awarded gold
Saieshna Reddy – awarded silver
Kelly Viljoen
Katherine Gilson

Grade 5:
Alexa Rohde – awarded bronze
Talia Pritchard

Jamie Hunt – awarded gold

Grade 4:
 Jodie Pattison – awarded silver
Victoria Lavelle – awarded gold
Heather Wimberley – awarded gold
Carmen Goncalves

Mai Hattori (Grade 6) and Victoria Lavelle (Grade 4) were the top achievers, within their respective grades, of all the children that participated in the challenge at St Stithians on Wednesday. Congratulations!
